Vietnam Association for Intellectual Women wishes to connect with intellectual Vietnamese community in the world to develop the country

On the morning of August 20th 2024 in Hanoi, leaders of the Vietnam Association for Intellectual Women had the meeting with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang.

The working session took place ahead of the 4th Conference of Overseas Vietnamese around the world and the 2024 Forum of Overseas Vietnamese Intellectuals and Experts, chaired by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in coordination with relevant departments, ministries, branches and localities.

Also attending the working session on behalf of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese were Ms. Dang Thi Thu Ha, Director of the Department of Economics, Science and Technology; Mr. Nguyen Hoai Nam, Deputy Director of the Department of Economics, Science and Technology.

At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Le Thi Hop, President of the Vietnam Association of Women Intellectuals, said that the Vietnam Association of Women Intellectuals currently has nearly 6,000 members, including many famous scientists who have made great contributions to society with scientific research implemented in practice.

Prof. Dr. Le Thi Hop, President of the Association of Vietnamese Women Intellectuals, expressed her wish that Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang, Chairwoman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, would support and assist the Association of Vietnamese Women Intellectuals in creating a bridge and connecting the Association with Vietnamese intellectuals abroad so that Vietnamese intellectuals at home and abroad can join hands and cooperate for the common development of the country.
Prof. Dr. Le Thi Hop, President of the Association of Vietnamese Women Intellectuals, expressed her wish that Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang, Chairwoman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, would support and assist the Association of Vietnamese Women Intellectuals in creating a bridge and connecting the Association with Vietnamese intellectuals abroad so that Vietnamese intellectuals at home and abroad can join hands and cooperate for the common development of the country.

According to Prof. Dr. Le Thi Hop, Vietnam has achieved great achievements, it is impossible not to mention the valuable contributions of the overseas Vietnamese community with nearly 6 million people living in more than 130 countries and territories. Of these, the number of people with university degrees or higher accounts for about 10-12% (equivalent to 600,000 people). Many scientists are famous in the fields of new technology, high technology, such as information technology, electronics, telecommunications, machine manufacturing, cybernetics, biotechnology, space technology, new materials, nanotechnology, energy, economic management, finance – banking. The connection between Vietnamese people around the world is creating increasingly flexible cooperation mechanisms for domestic and foreign experts when participating in projects and programs within Vietnam’s national development strategy.

Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang said that the 2024 Forum of Vietnamese Intellectuals and Experts Abroad will have many outstanding female intellectuals attending. The Vietnam Association of Women Intellectuals has 5 delegates attending this Forum. Leaders of the Department of Economics, Science and Technology will support the introduction so that the Association can connect with overseas Vietnamese intellectuals and experts participating in the Forum.

From this reality, Prof. Dr. Le Thi Hop expressed her wish that Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang, Chairwoman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, would support and assist the Vietnam Association of Women Intellectuals in creating a bridge, connecting the Association with the team of Vietnamese intellectuals abroad so that the team of Vietnamese intellectuals at home and abroad could join hands and cooperate for the common development of the country.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoi, former Vietnamese Ambassador to Canada, said that the Vietnam Women Intellectuals Association is a common home, gathering many famous female scientists of Vietnam and other faces.

Receiving the opinion of Prof. Dr. Le Thi Hop, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang agreed with the wishes of the Vietnam Association of Women Intellectuals. The Deputy Minister said that Vietnamese women abroad have many examples of striving to become people with positions in the government of the host country; many female scientists have achievements that have been recognized and highly appreciated by the world’s scientific community. The fact that the Vietnam Association of Women Intellectuals wants to connect with the team of Vietnamese intellectuals abroad to join hands in developing the country is valuable and encouraging. At the Forum of Vietnamese Intellectuals and Experts Abroad in 2024, there are typical female intellectuals attending. The Vietnam Association of Women Intellectuals has 5 delegates attending this Forum. The leaders of the Department of Economics, Science and Technology will support the introduction, so that the Association can connect with Vietnamese intellectuals and experts abroad to participate in the Forum.

Ms. Luan Thuy Duong, former Vietnamese Ambassador to Malaysia, expressed her desire to exchange and connect with female Vietnamese intellectuals abroad to attend the Forum of Vietnamese Intellectuals and Experts Abroad in 2024.

Also at the meeting, Prof. Dr. Le Thi Hop informed about the INWES-APNN 2024 Conference with the theme  ” The role of women in science  & technology and international integration: Smart, Creative & Sustainable”  taking place in 2 days (October 4-5, 2024) at the National Innovation Center NIC (Lang-Hoa Lac High-Tech Park). Prof. Dr. Le Thi Hop hopes that Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang will pay attention and attend this Conference.
